History
The Chamber of Imathia was established by Royal Decree of October 9, 1959, as a Legal Entity of Public Law and is supervised by the Ministry of Development. It is a mandatory association of Merchants, Industrialists, Professionals and Craftsmen of the region, with elected Administrative bodies elected every four years by the members of the Chamber. It initially operated as the Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Imathia Prefecture, governed by the provisions of the decree of 5/3/1947 (Government Gazette 49/1947). In 1980 it was transformed into the (central) Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Imathia Prefecture and from 1988 into the Chamber of Imathia. The Board of Directors consists of 21 Members. It includes six departments:
