Responsibilities
The purpose of the Chamber is the protection and development of trade, industry, manufacturing and professions within its region, as well as the economic progress of the region, within the framework of the interests of the national economy.
As an institutionally established advisory and consultative body, the Chamber intervenes with the State and the competent authorities by submitting well-documented proposals and opinions, aiming to address the problems of the businesses it represents, within the context of the local and national economy.
More specifically, the Chamber operates in the following areas:
– Provides information on import and export procedures.
– Maintains the General Registry of Businesses and Trade Names, as well as the Special Registries of Exporters, Goldsmiths and Silversmiths, Civil Contract Brokers, and Insurance Advisors.
– Conducts expert assessments.
– Organizes lectures, conferences and training seminars for entrepreneurs and business executives in its region.
– Informs its members about important economic news, EU programs, trade fairs, product offers and demands, etc.
– Contributes to the development of the country’s commercial relations with foreign countries through participation in organized trade missions abroad.
– Provides opinions and submits studies and memoranda on any issue concerning the economic activity of the region.
– Participates in Civil Companies to support local, national and European initiatives.
– Actively participates, through its representatives, in committees for the promotion of business positions and cooperates with all local authorities and institutions (Regional Authorities, Municipalities, etc.).
